Shrek 2
Shrek on the Game Boy Advance is nothing new. The system's seen three previous games featuring PDI/Dreamworks' ogre of varying quality, from the absolutely abysmal ( Shrek Swamp Kart Speedway) to the surprisingly fun (Shrek: Hassle at the Castle.) Luckily, the GBA rendition of the new theatrical release is tilted on the good side of the scale; in fact, it's the best Shrek game the system's seen so far. The game's skewed young, so the challenge isn't quite there, but it's a satisfyingly lengthy game that owes a lot to The Lost Vikings for its design. |

Pokemon : Ruby
Nintendo's mega-popular monster-battling RPG is back with Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance. These new Pokemon quests take players on a journey through Hoenn, where they can train, battle, trade and earn badges with a new set of Pokemon. Ruby and Sapphire offer over 100 new Pokemon, and completely overhauled graphics, thanks to the power of the Game Boy Advance. A new two-on-two battle system raises the level of strategy and excitement, as a single player can simultaneously battle two Pokemon. Multiplayer options have also been expanded as two players can battle against each other with two Pokemon each, as well as a new four-player battle mode. |

YuGiOh Dungeon Dice Monsters
Late last year, Konami released its first Game Boy Advance tie-in to the extremely popular anime and card series Yu-Gi-Oh: a spot on conversion of the card battle game, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul. Not one to let a good thing drift away, Konami smartly is continuing the series, branching the franchise out beyond its original card battling roots. Yu-Gi-Oh: Dungeon Dice Monsters is a unique one-on-one strategy game that, like Eternal Duelest Soul, has a massive and intimidating learning curve, but once you figure out the gameplay mechanics, this title is incredibly deep and challenging, and almost as fun as the card game itself. |
